High Resolution Deflectors

An Acousto-optic Deflector provides the possibility to spatially change the position of the diffracted beam by varying the applied RF frequency. The high resolution deflectors uses the shear mode configuration and provides higher resolution and larger scan angles.

An Acousto-optic deflector provides a spatial deflection of the diffracted order by varying the applied RF frequency. The high-resolution version uses the Shear mode configuration in order to provide large scan angles as well as high resolution. The latter is the number of distinct directions which can be addressed by the deflector while the former is the maximum angle range variation of the laser beam.

These are available either as 1-axis or 2-axis: two deflectors assembled orthogonally to beneficiate from a 2D scanning.
